The International Conference on Children of Prisoners 2010, will be held from 26th to 28th July 2010 in Kampala, Uganda. Wells of Hope in conjunction with partners Will host the Conference with the prospect to, consolidate our experience, To share new knowledge and skills, and to discuss and jointly develop an Action Agenda for Children who’s Parents are in Prison in the next decade .The conference also aims to promote friendship, solidarity, and one spirit Among people serving vulnerable Children specifically those whose parents Are in Prison from all over the World.

 

Please come and join us to devise methods to Effectively Respond to the Plight of Children of Prisoners world over. Together with other people like you we will discuss the importance handling problems of Children of Prisoners holds in society as a platform for effecting change in our Community.

 

Overall, we will strive to create a positive atmosphere for children who are Made to pay daily for the imprisonment of their parents, and we can only be Successful with your support.

 

Objectives and anticipated Outcomes of the Conference

 

  1. Update our partners
  2. Raise awareness and advocate for children affected by the imprisonment of their parents.
  3. To bring together individual and Organizations involved in Children’s work so that they can appreciate the plight of children of prisoners and find solutions.
  4. To come up with effective solutions to address the problem of Children of Prisoners.
  5. To exchange information with others who are involved in activities similar to those of Wells of Hope .
  6. To lobby and advocate for children of prisoners by creating a forum to Initiate Policies related to children of prisoners ,that can be presented to relevant bodies.
  7. To mobilize support and form more partnerships to support the Wells of Hope work and similar organizations.
  8. To  take Wells of Hope model to other communities, i.e expand activities to other communities through this conference. 
  9. To increase on our networks locally and  internationally

 

 

 Participants will come different networks not limited to the following:

 

 

1.         International delegates from different countries especially those involved in Children and HIV/AIDS

2.         Christian Prison Ministries. 

3.         Government .Line ministries like Ministry of Gender labor and Social development, Prisons Department, Police.

4.         Churches

5.         Charities in Uganda.

6.         Donor Community

12. Prison fellowship International

A children’s camp will follow immediately after the end of conference. Visiting delegates can take part They can  also visit the prisons and talk to Prisoners whose children are  supported by Wells of Hope.
